About CarSnag

Built by people who buy and sell cars for a living.

Two decades in automotive wholesale, turned into the screening tool we always wished we had.

CarSnag's founding partners have spent two decades in Canadian automotive wholesale. They've bought and sold tens of thousands of cars between them. They know what a deal looks like, and what an "almost a deal" looks like when the spread is the whole game.

Plenty of car-shopping tools are built by strong software teams. CarSnag came at it from the other direction: it was built by car people who got tired of tracking the whole market by hand and set out to automate everything.

We know not every 2022 F-150 is the same.

An XL work truck and a Raptor share a year, a make, and a model, and they sit nearly forty thousand dollars apart. Year, make, and model barely start the story; the trim, and the specs under it, are where the money is. So we price to the trim and the specs, not just the badge.

The engine we trade on.

The valuation model is our own, and it is the same engine we run our own wholesale business on. We built it from the ground up using two decades of trade experience, and every day it prices the cars we buy and sell ourselves, so it has to be right.

Why that beats a book value.

Book values like Black Book, J.D. Power or KBB are averages, and AI price estimates are a black box that can hallucinate. Neither can read the ad in front of you. Ours compares each car against live listings in your region, down to the trim and the packages the seller listed, and stays in step with what is selling, what is sitting, and what buyers in each region are paying.

What you get.

A focused list of listings worth your time. Saved searches that run continuously. Scored alerts you can trust. A leads workflow that follows the lead through to close. We'd rather do that handful of things really well than stretch into being a marketplace or a financing portal.

And if you run a lot, there's more on the way: a set of dealer and wholesaler tools for sourcing, inventory management, and managing leads at scale.

Same year. Same model. Different truck.

between the entry trim and the top of the range, same year and mileage. That gap is why the exact trim is worth pinning down.

And trim is only part of it. Cab, box, and package move the number further still, so treat the valuation as a sharp starting point and let your own eyes close the gap.
