Where does the listing data come from?
+-
We continuously monitor every major Canadian marketplace, around the clock, coast to coast.
Can dealers and wholesalers use CarSnag to source inventory?
+-
Yes. CarSnag is built for the trade as much as for solo flippers. It finds private-party units across the whole country, each priced against live market comps, and keeps every one as a lead with notes, follow-up reminders, full price history, and a bill of sale at close. For a lot, it works as a sourcing and lead-management pipeline, not just a single-car finder, from $50 a month instead of the hundreds that dealer acquisition software charges.
Will CarSnag flood me with alerts?
+-
No. If you are getting hundreds of alerts a day, you are using the wrong tool: every non-deal you chase is time you never get back. CarSnag only rings your phone for cars that clear your profit bar. You set the minimum Deal Score per search, AI trained on real listings filters out dealer ads (Standard or Strict), and before you save a search you see how many alerts a week to expect.
What does it mean that listings are prequalified?
+-
Every listing we find is screened before it can ever reach your feed. We drop dealer ads, scams, rebuilt and salvage titles, hail damage, and anything with no profit left in it once you have bought it. What survives is private-party cars priced under the market, which is why the feed is short.
How are Deal Scores calculated?
+-
Deal Scores compare a listing's asking price to CarSnag's estimated market value, built from comparable listings with similar model specs, mileage, and region. The bigger the gap, the higher the score: five stars is well below market and worth moving on quickly, zero means it is priced at or above market and rarely worth the drive. Read how Deal Scores work.
How fast are CarSnag alerts?
+-
Instant means instant. CarSnag's scanners run every second of the day across Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji and AutoTrader. Instant alerts (on Plus and Pro) reach your phone with zero delay; Fast and Standard searches add 3 or 5 minutes. Most alert apps check on a timer every 3, 15 or 30 minutes, so they mostly send the cars everyone else already messaged. We also watch the price on every active listing and alert you to cuts.
Does CarSnag need my Facebook account or a browser extension?
+-
No, and that matters. A browser extension runs inside your own Facebook account, and you have no idea what it is doing on your account or your computer. Facebook shadow-bans accounts it catches automating, and a shadow-banned account sees stale listings while the good ones go to someone else. CarSnag runs on our own cloud servers 24/7: no extension, no Facebook login, nothing on your computer.
Can I use CarSnag for just one car, not a business?
+-
Absolutely. Plenty of users are private buyers hunting for one well-priced vehicle. The Basic plan's search is usually plenty for a single-car shopper, and every plan starts with the same free trial.
Why an app instead of Telegram or email alerts?
+-
Because the deal goes to whoever messages first. Telegram, email and Discord alerts mean juggling apps, and emails end up in junk, never seen until the deal is gone. In CarSnag the alert opens to every photo, the full ad down to the trim, the market value and your margin, one tap from messaging the seller first.
Is CarSnag on iPhone and Android?
+-
Yes. CarSnag is on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android.
Will my data be sold or shared?
+-
No. We don't sell user data.
Is CarSnag reliable?
+-
CarSnag is not someone's side project with side-project reliability. It runs on redundant cloud servers with automatic failover and a standby database, monitored around the clock, so your searches keep running at 3 a.m. and on a long weekend.
How does the trial and billing work?
+-
Every account starts with a full month of Pro, free, with every feature and no commitment. Other apps give you a few days. After that you pick the plan that fits how you buy: Basic at $50, Plus at $100 or Pro at $199 a month. Plenty of people only need Basic, and that is completely fine. Switch plans or cancel whenever it suits you, and one good flip pays for the whole year. See pricing.
Which marketplaces does CarSnag cover?
+-
CarSnag scans the major Canadian marketplaces, including AutoTrader, Kijiji, and Facebook Marketplace. We read dealer inventory too, because it is what tells us what a car is really worth, but the leads we send you are private-party listings.
Does CarSnag cover my province?
+-
Yes. CarSnag scans listings nationwide, across every province and territory. You set a city and radius, and nearby towns are searched automatically.
What is a price drop, and why does it matter?
+-
A price drop is a cut to a listing's asking price since it first posted. Drops often signal a motivated seller, so CarSnag tracks them across the whole market, not just new listings, and can alert you to them.
How is CarSnag's valuation different from Black Book, KBB or J.D. Power?
+-
Book values like Black Book, KBB and J.D. Power are averages: they cannot read the ad in front of you, the trim, the packages or the options the seller listed. AI price estimates are a black box that can hallucinate a number with no way to check it. CarSnag values every listing with the same engine we run our own wholesale business on, built from two decades of trading. It compares the car against live listings in your region, down to the trim and the packages, so the number you see is the number a wholesaler would put on it.
Does a five-star Deal Score mean I should buy the car?
+-
It means the asking price is well below our market estimate, so it is worth a fast look. It is not a substitute for inspecting the vehicle, driving it, and checking its history before you commit.
How do I search for a specific rare model?
+-
Pro includes a rare-model search that watches for specific models across all of Canada. If a hard-to-find unit lists anywhere in the country, you hear about it, not just the ones near you. Compare plans.
Can I generate a bill of sale in the app?
+-
Yes. Fill, sign, and share a private or dealer bill of sale right from the app when you close, so the deal goes from first alert to signed paperwork without leaving CarSnag.
Why does CarSnag cost more than a $10 alert app?
+-
Because one good flip can make you thousands of dollars, and CarSnag is built to find it. A $10 app sends you pings; CarSnag sends you the cars that make money, priced by wholesalers. One flip pays for the whole year. And trying it costs you nothing: other apps give you a few days, we give you a full month of Pro.
What happens when the free trial ends?
+-
You choose what comes next: Basic at $50, Plus at $100 or Pro at $199 a month, whichever fits. Cancel before the month is up and you are not charged at all.
Does CarSnag help manage a lead pipeline?
+-
Every listing you save becomes a lead you can work: your own notes, the full price history, and follow-up reminders so nothing goes cold. For a dealer or wholesaler running many prospects at once, it doubles as a lightweight sourcing pipeline.
